  • What are the usage methods and working principles of a clamp shaped gauge?

    Clamp on ammeter is divided into high voltage and low voltage, used to directly measure the current in the line without disconnecting the line. The usage method and precautions are as follows:

    (1) When using a high-voltage clamp ammeter, pay attention to the voltage level of the clamp ammeter. It is strictly prohibited to use a low-voltage clamp meter to measure the current of high-voltage circuits. When measuring with a high-pressure clamp gauge, it should be operated by two people. Non duty personnel should also fill out the second type of work ticket. When measuring, insulating gloves should be worn, standing on an insulating pad, and not touching other equipment to prevent short circuits or grounding.

    (2) When observing the time on a watch, special attention should be paid to maintaining a safe distance between the head and the live parts. The distance between any part of the human body and a charged part shall not be less than the full length of the clamp gauge.

    (3) When measuring on high-voltage circuits, it is strictly prohibited to use wire connections of clamp ammeters to connect instruments for measurement. When measuring the current of each phase of high-voltage cables, the distance between the cable head and the line should be greater than 300mm, and the insulation should be good. Only when the measurement is deemed convenient can it be carried out.

    (4) When measuring the current of low-voltage fuses or horizontally arranged low-voltage busbars, insulation materials should be used to protect and isolate each phase of the fuses or busbars before measurement to prevent phase to phase short circuits.

    (5) When the cable is grounded, measurement is strictly prohibited. Prevent grounding explosion caused by low insulation level of cable heads, which may endanger personal safety.

    (6) After measuring with a clamp ammeter, pull the switch to the maximum range to prevent accidental overcurrent during the next use; And it should be stored in a dry room.

    2. The connected ammeter will indicate the current of the tested circuit. By moving the shift switch, the clamp gauge can be changed to different ranges. However, live operation is not allowed during gear shifting. The accuracy of a clamp gauge is generally not high, ranging from 2.5 to 5.

    Grade. For ease of use, there are switches with different ranges used to measure different levels of current and voltage.

    3. The jaws should be tightly closed during measurement. If there is noise after closing, you can open the jaws and close them again. If the noise cannot be eliminated, check whether the magnetic circuit joint surface is smooth and clean. If there is dust, please wipe it clean.
